A solo driver cannot make an appointment that was sold as a team run.
A next-day haul of 1,200 miles is a team, or it is late. Hours of service are not a suggestion you skip because the customer is angry. If you book a solo driver on a team schedule, the missed appointment is yours.
Write solo or team on the confirmation
The rate confirmation should say which service you bought. Team pay is not solo pay. If the shipper will not pay for a team, change the delivery day. Do not hand the problem to the driver at the fuel island.
A driver who runs illegal hours to save your appointment can put the whole carrier out of service. That is a worse miss.
