Ask Where the New Driver Went to School

If the driver is new to you, ask where they trained before you put them on a load.

This year federal attention has been on commercial licenses that should not have been issued, including schools that handed out a license without real training. A card from a mill is an out of service waiting on the next inspection.

Call the school

Ask the carrier for the school name. Call the school. If nobody answers, or the school does not exist, do not take the driver's word for it. This is a different check from the English interview, and it is a different check from the state on a non-domiciled license.

You want a driver who was actually trained to hold that license.
