A driver who cannot handle the roadside interview in English can be put out of service.
That enforcement has been in place since June 25. If it happens to your driver, the load sits on the shoulder until you find another driver or the inspector is done with you. Neither one is quick.
Know before you dispatch
The driver has to be able to speak with the inspector, read the signs, and fill out the record. If your driver cannot do that, do not find out at the scale.
