Hurricane Helene washed out I-40 through the mountains between Tennessee and North Carolina.
That road is closed. A rate confirmation that still says to run it is wrong. The driver cannot just go around without miles, hours, and a receiver who will still take the truck.
Rewrite the trip
Pick the detour before the truck rolls. Add the miles to the rate. Tell the receiver the new day. If the receiver will not take the truck on that day, hold it. A truck parked on a closed interstate is not progress.
Check the road the morning of the pickup. A highway that was open yesterday may not be open today.
