Freight from Mexico and Canada is days away from a new customs charge.

The charge has been set for early March. The amount you heard in a text is not the paperwork. The commercial invoice has to match the freight on the trailer, and the person who clears the load has to answer the phone before the truck leaves.

Do not guess at the bridge

Put the customs contact on the rate confirmation. The driver needs the invoice, the consignee, and a number that works. If those are not in the cab, hold the truck.

A load sitting at the bridge while someone looks for a document is your delay. Fix it at the shipper.
