Inspectors spent May 12 through 14 checking driver files, including the Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.

If your driver is prohibited there, you do not have a driver. The load does not move, and you find out at a scale house instead of at your desk.

Run the query before you dispatch

The carrier has to query the Clearinghouse before they put a driver in a truck. If you are brokering the load, ask them to confirm the driver is clear. Do not take a verbal he-is-fine as the query.

A prohibited driver under your freight is an out of service and a customer who wants to know why the truck stopped.
