If your October freight has to move before an October 1 port deadline, it has to move now.
East and Gulf Coast ports were set to stop on October 1 if the longshore contract was not settled. Shippers have been bringing boxes in early. That only works if the warehouse has a door and you have a truck.
Book the door this week
Call the receiver. Get the appointment. Put it on the rate confirmation. A container that lands early and then sits on the port because nobody booked the outgate is not a plan.
Do not wait for the week of the deadline. The trucks and the doors are already being taken by the people who called first.
